31 août, Saint Aristide. Philosophe à Athènes (II^e siècle)

Philosophe païen à Athènes, il se convertit au Christ, selon la chronique d'Eusèbe, et il adressa à l'empereur Hadrien une apologie où il souligne la nouveauté de la religion du Christ, message d'espérance et d'amour. Il règne dans cet écrit un ton de sincérité joyeuse qui prouve combien l'auteur était heureux d'avoir trouvé la foi. Cette apologie a été retrouvée traduite en syriaque, en arménien et en grec.

On fête également les Aidan, Cody et Nicodème.
